CHICAGO – A blogger who independently started a viral campaign for ESPN to sign Exavier Pope to a contract has doubled down by writing a new article in support of the self proclaimed Best Dressed Man on TV.

As more news of talent movement at several major networks were being announced this week, a blogger for for ChicagoNow, a blogging site operated by the Chicago Tribune, independently decided to continue to champion the viral campaign that began last week.

In the post “ESPN: Do the right thing and call for Exavier Pope“, Denise Nathan lays out new reason to contact Exavier Pope, citing the need for positive and healthy off the field dialogue in sports. As of this post, the article is picking up steam being read and shared across social media.

The Chicago based blogger is using the hashtag #CallforPope for her campaign.

Exavier has been so moved by the campaign he has decided to leak #CallforPope campaign promises. So far Exavier’s promises have been:

Exavier Pope put his sports law and business radio show #SuitUP on hiatus to sell it to bigger platform, but before doing so, a former guest of his show Senior Writer for ESPN.com and ESPN the Magazine Steve Fainaru shared he also thought Exavier Pope deserved a bigger platform:

“I have to say, I’ve been on literally dozens of shows since our book came out, and I have not come across one that asked questions with as much insight, style and good humor as you. I really mean that. Please keep inviting me back…And what’s your audience? Whatever it is it’s not big enough.”

~ Steve Fainaru, Senior Writer, ESPN.com, ESPN the Magazine, author of “League of Denial:The NFL, Concussions and the Battle for Truth” in email to Exavier Pope on January 16, 2014 after appearing on Exavier Pope’s #SuitUP radio show

Exavier Pope happily admits he enjoys the attention.

“It is flattering to know not only do fans support my brand, but professionals within the industry as well,” says the rising star discussing the recent buzz. “I’d welcome a call from ESPN, but I would be most open to a call from any network where I would be able to display my first rate brand of analysis, my passion, and my trademarked style, as well working with awesome, forward looking people who allowed my creativity and voice to flourish. That could be ESPN, Fox, NBC, CBS, or Turner. I’ve been in talks for quite some time, and it is all about the right fit. The right situation where God puts me in order to have the right impact in media, that is where I will go.”

With help from #CallforPope campaign spreading, it looks as if The Best Dressed Man on TV could get a call for a tailor made fit soon.
