Exavier B. Pope I, Esq. is the principal owner of The Pope Law Firm, P.C., a premiere Sports and Entertainment, Personal Injury, and Class Action law firm. Mr. Pope has counseled a former #1 pick overall in the NBA draft and an All NBA defensive player. Mr. Pope’s clients have appeared, starred or written for programs on networks such as NBC, HBO, Showtime, VH-1, CBS, and Fusion TV. Mr. Pope is the Sports Law Chair of the Job Advisory Board of John Marshall Law School.
Prior to starting his own law firm, Mr. Pope worked in Hollywood in the legal departments of leading entertaining companies such as Warner Music Group, Directors Guild of America, and Ford Model Management. Mr. Pope obtained his Juris Doctor from Rutgers University School of Law. Prior to law school Mr. Pope worked managing investments and trades at Northern Trust Bank, Chicago Stock Exchange, as well as Merrill Lynch. Mr. Pope has a Bachelor of Science in Economics degree as well as a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from the University of Illinois Chicago.
Mr. Pope’s 10+ experience in the sports and entertainment industry has led to him being one of the most celebrated legal analysts in television today. Mr. Pope has over 200+ appearances on air, appearing internationally to over 70+ million homes and over 100 countries on BBC and Al Jazeera English; nationally, on NBC Nightly News, HLN, Fox News Channel, Huff Post Live, ESPN Radio, and WGN Superstation; and, locally in top 3 media markets on NBC, Fox, and CBS. Mr. Pope has also been a trusted source to sports law related pieces for CNBC and Jet magazine.
Exavier hosts the “#SuitUP” news magazine & variety program which focuses on the business and the law behind sports hottest topics delivered with style. Mr. Pope is known as the #BestDressedManonTV.
Mr. Pope is a Fortune 500 speaker and peak performance strategist to companies such as British Petroleum (BP), motivating execs and employees through speeches and teambuilding. Mr. Pope speaks to top universities and non-profits like University of Illinois. Mr. Pope gives commencement addresses and speaks at conferences globally.

Mr. Pope is heavily involved in philanthropic endeavors. Mr. Pope serves as board member of First Star, initially funded by the generosity of Academy Award winning director Steven Spielberg. First Star’s focus is increasing 4 year university enrollment of former foster youth. Mr. Pope also serves as Board Member of AIDS Foundation of Chicago, as well as the board of Donda’s House, an arts education program started by superstar entertainer Kanye West. Mr. Pope also is founder of The Lily Pad, a non-profit organization which mentors and provides first class experiences for youth and young adults.
Mr. Pope is husband to internationally acclaimed fine artist Dana Todd Pope and father to 3 beautiful and talented children Jordan, Emory, and Exavier II.
